Eric Lunn, MD – President

“My experience in the military as a Medical Corpsman caring for ill and injured military personnel was a major influence in choosing a career in health care and in the area of emergency medicine. My experience, from emergency medical technician to registered nurse to physician assistant/nurse practitioner and now, physician, has allowed me to develop a valuable knowledge and understanding of the workings of the health care team. In my role as Medical Director of Regional Operations I will be calling on all of that experience to provide support to Altru's outstanding medical and support staff in the region as we move forward with Altru's mission of improving health and enriching life for the patients we serve.”

Yvonne Gomez, MD – Medical Director of Quality and Care Management

Role: Medical Director of Quality and Care Management 

Responsibility:

Oversee and assist in planning, directing and coordinating activities to promote quality health care services as well as ensure safety for patients as well as the community. I will be serving as a physician mentor relating to Altru physician accountability. My position enables me to do my best to influence all aspects of quality and safety, including standards, measurement and appropriate follow-through.

“There are several reasons that I chose health care. The multiple fields of science are interesting and find the ability of the human body to heal itself is quite intriguing. God’s work is awesome and fascinating. I enjoy “fixing” things, a trait I inherited from my father who was and still is a mechanic. He would take apart and fix anything that wouldn’t work. I enjoy the daily challenge of figuring out how to manage each patient’s particular problem. Each person is different. I find it rewarding to help others. What I enjoy most is the art of medicine that melds all the above together.”

Although I also get immense satisfaction from making sick children feel better, I see my role more as being an advocate for the prevention of disease - making sure children are vaccinated, using car seats appropriately, wearing helmets, using seatbelts, staying active, limiting screen time, and developing healthy habits that hopefully will stay with them through adulthood.”

Responsibility: Coordinates the recruitment and retention of physician staff in order to meet the changing health care needs of our community.

Ken Vein – Administrative Director of Plant and Facilities

Role: Administrative Director of Plant and Facilities

Responsibility: As an engineer, Ken oversees the design & construction, maintenance, safety & management, environmental services, and biomedical engineering for all of Altru’s facilities.

departments.

Jill Wilson – Administrative Director of Regional Operations

Role: Administrative Director of Regional Operations and Clinical Support Services

Responsibility: Collaborates with physicians, staff and community members throughout the region to provide quality health care services in their local area. Specific areas of responsibility include home health, hospice, retail pharmacy, outreach rehab services, regional services and clinics, durable medical equipment sales, infusion therapy, and rehab technology. Supports the successful delivery of patient care in the areas of pathology, radiology, laboratory.
