Dr. Joshua LeClaire Joins Altru Health System
Altru Health System, Grand Forks, ND – Joshua LeClaire, DO, joins Altru’s pathology department. Dr. LeClaire began his education at the University of Minnesota in Duluth where he received a degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He earned a master’s of science degree to become a pathologists’ assistant at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He then earned his doctor of osteopathy degree at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Dr. Leclaire completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio and a cytopathyology fellowship at MetroHealthMedicalCenter in Cleveland, Ohio. Most recently, Dr. LeClaire was the associate chief in the pathology and laboratory medicine department at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota. Dr. LeClaire is a member of the College of American Pathologists.

Altru’s Laboratory provides physicians with concrete date to help determine a patient’s diagnosis. Through testing of blood, blood products, tissue and fluids, pathologists in the lab use their medical and scientific knowledge to analyze the specimen for proper diagnosis. Pathologists act as consultant physicians, working with providers to manage and diagnosis disease through laboratory testing.
