Altru Hosts Free Fall Risk Assessments & Education Seminars
Grand Forks, ND – According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one-third of older adults (age 65+) fall each year. Altru's STEADI Fall Risk Assessment Program will hold free screenings and educational sessions for the community in recognition of National Fall Prevention Day in September.
”By bringing fall prevention education to the Grand Forks community, we hope to reduce the number of falls and injuries related to falls of older adults,” says Pat Carter, physical therapist.
Free fall prevention sessions will be held:
Wednesday, September 25 | Altru Rehabilitation Center
Tuesday, October 1 | Grand Forks Senior Center
The fall prevention education seminar will be held 9-9:30 a.m. Risk assessments will take place between 9:30-11:30 a.m.
