TEARS Hosts Walk for Suicide Prevention on September 15

Grand Forks, ND – TEARS (Together We Educate About the Realities of Suicide) and Altru Health System have joined forces to host the 2013 TEARS Walk for Suicide Prevention on Sunday, September 15, from 1 – 4 p.m. at Lincoln Park. The walk raises funds to bring suicide prevention resources to our community and region. The event also provides a forum for family and friends to remember loved ones who have died by suicide.

“Ten years ago, my 18-year-old son took his own life. Since his passing, I have been passionate about bringing suicide prevention awareness to the community,” says Sandy Kovar, co-founder of TEARS. “I invite the community to show support for suicide prevention awareness and remembering the ones we have lost by attending the event.”

To register, donate or pledge, visit altru.org/suicideprevention or call 701.780.3451. One hundred percent of the proceeds stay in the community and region.
