Altru Alliance Celebrates $3 Million and Counting
Grand Forks, ND – Altru Alliance recently surpassed $3 million in giving to Altru patients, families and the region. Formed in 1971, Altru Alliance works in partnership with Altru Health System to provide patient services, fund supportive activities and promote the health and welfare of our communities. An official celebration will take place 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 27 in rooms A-D of Altru Hospital.
“The greatest benefit [of Alliance membership] is knowing that you have helped to make a patient’s visit a bit more comfortable, or more pleasant, or more memorable,” explains Jo Cultice, Altru Alliance Board President. Altru Alliance donations have included blanket warmers, courtesy vehicles, children’s books and much more. Through the years, Altru Alliance has supported Altru Cancer Center, the Suicide Prevention Walk, the Smarter Leaner Greener program (offering free rides for kids who cannot afford to ride the bus), raised gardens at Parkwood Senior Living and countless other areas across Altru and our communities.
In addition to sales and events throughout the year, the Alliance’s major source of funds is the Altru Alliance Gift Shop, located near the hospital lobby. Most of the Gift Shop staff is volunteers.
