Altru Named Top United Way Contributor in Grand Forks
Grand Forks, ND – Altru Health System contributed a total of $138,894 to the 2013 United Way campaign, the largest contribution in Grand Forks. Altru physicians, staff and retirees donated funds in support of United Way, an organization in which people from business, government, education, health care, faith groups, and non-profits collaborate to bring attention to issues facing the communities of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks and the surrounding area. “Supporting United Way ultimately gives back to our community, and that is something we are always striving to do,” said Mark Waind, Altru’s United Way employee campaign chair. “It’s great to see our employees supporting the local community.”
“We are extremely grateful to Altru staff and volunteers for their generous donations to the 2013 campaign,” said Shaun Havis, United Way Vice President – Resource Development. “These contributions support human health and programs that improve quality of life for local citizens.”
