Altru’s Trauma Services to Host AARP SMART Driver Course
Grand Forks, ND – AARP SMART Driver Course will be held bi-monthly throughout 2014, starting with a class on Thursday, January 23 from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. at Altru Psychiatry Center.
Attending this AARP SMART Driver Course will help drivers ages 50+ boost safety awareness, refresh and improve driving skills, minimize crash risk and increase confidence, while prolonging mobility and encouraging independence.
“The course is designed to help mature drivers safely navigate today’s roads,” said Bill Vasicek, community safety coordinator for Altru. “Refreshing their driving skills and knowledge helps this group stay independent while keeping our roads safe, reducing chances for traffic violations, accidents and injuries.”
Upon completing the course, participants may be eligible to receive an insurance discount. Fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. For more information or to register, please contact Bill Vasicek, Altru Health System’s Trauma Services, at 701.780.5939.
