Over $24,500 Raised on Giving Hearts Day 2015

Thanks to supporters who donated to Altru Health Foundation on Giving Hearts Day, over $24,500 was raised for Altru’s Camp Good Mourning.

“Camp Good Mourning is 100 percent funded by donations throughout the region. Because of the generosity of donors on Giving Hearts Day, camp expenses will be covered for another year,” says Sue Mairs, camp director of Altru’s Camp Good Mourning. “Around 50 kids and teens coping with the grief of losing a loved one will be positively impacted.”

Altru’s Camp Good Mourning is a three day grief camp held annually in June at Park River Bible Camp. Gifts help cover the costs of running the camp, including lodging, meals, therapeutic activities, and camp scholarships for kids and teens whose those who are financially eligible. No child is ever turned away from camp because a family can’t afford it.

If you missed Giving Hearts Day, but would still like to support Altru’s Camp Good Mourning, there’s still time to donate.
