Altru Announces New Finance Division Leadership

Grand Forks, ND – Altru Health System is proud to announce three new roles within its
finance division.

Scott Berge, Director of Finance and Budget

Berge will oversee work with financial reporting, budgeting, Medicare cost reporting and reimbursement. Additionally, Berge has assumed responsibility for preparing the health system’s tax returns.

Berge began at Altru in 2013 as manager of finance. He graduated from the University
of North Dakota with a bachelor of accountancy degree and passed the certified public accounts (CPA) exam following graduation.

Darin Ohe, Director of Finance and Decision Support

Ohe oversees the system’s capital budgeting process, decision support for all divisions and materials management. He will also be responsible for implementing a new cost reporting system and accompanying procedures.

Ohe started at Altru in 2009 and has worked as a senior financial decision and RAC coordinator as well as manager of capital budget and materials management. He holds a bachelors in healthcare administration and communication from Concordia College and an MBA in finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Stan Salwei, Director of Revenue Cycle

Salwei has expanded responsibility for all of the revenue cycle operations throughout Altru Health System. He is working to bring new technology online that supports top quartile performance across all aspects of the revenue cycle.

Salwei has been involved in healthcare for over 24 years. He started his career in health information management, went on to patient access and next to the business office, working with revenue cycle management. He received his bachelor’s in business administration and information management from the University of North Dakota, an associate of applied science in health information technology at Northwest Technical College and a master’s in business administration from the University of Mary.
