Altru Pharmacy Earns NDSHP Best Practices Award

Altru Health System, Grand Forks, ND – Altru Pharmacy has earned a North Dakota Society of Health-System Pharmacists (NDSHP) Best Practices Award for their telepharmacy program. The NDSHP Best Practices Award is given in recognition of outstanding practitioners who have successfully implemented innovative systems that demonstrate best practices in health-system pharmacy.

Altru’s telepharmacy provides seven critical access hospitals in North Dakota with basic pharmacy coverage 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Through pharmacy resources and professional support, this gives better access to residents throughout the region.

“NDSHP is excited to recognize Altru Pharmacy for the Best Practices Award,” stated Maari Loy, President of NDSHP. “Without this program, patients in the participating rural areas would not have access to this level of pharmacy care around-the-clock.”
