Dr. Colleen Swank Appointed Chief Medical Executive

Grand Forks, ND –  Colleen Swank, MD, has been appointed Chief Medical Executive at Altru Health System. This role signifies Dr. Swank’s years of experience, understanding of Altru Health System and leadership in the community. 

“Dr. Swank is an excellent pediatrician and physician leader. Her experience and diverse thinking will help us continue on our journey to delivering world-class care to all residents of our region,” said Altru President, Dr. Eric Lunn. As the Chief Medical Executive, Dr. Swank provides leadership to physicians of Altru Health System.

Dr. Swank earned her medical degree from the University of North Dakota, and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Dr. Swank earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Dakota. Dr. Swank has served as the Medical Director of Primary Care, the Chair of Pediatrics and the Chair of the Council of Chairs. She is a clinical professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Swank will continue to see pediatric patients on a part-time basis. Dr. Swank is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
