Dr. Lashonda Soma Joins Altru Health System

Altru Health System, Grand Forks, ND –Lashonda Soma, MD, joins the radiology team at Altru Health System. “As a child, I was happiest when I was caring for others” says Dr. Lashonda Soma. Her interest in radiology surfaced during her rotation medical with sports medicine. She loved reading x-rays and the role that allowed her to play in patient care. “Patients play a big role in their treatment. It’s important to keep patients at the core. My focus is on treating the person, not the problem.”

Dr. Soma earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, North Carolina. She completed her residency in diagnostic radiology and was a fellow in breast imaging at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston.

Dr. Soma’s family background and experience with breast cancer makes her an excellent addition to Altru Health System. In her free time she enjoys biking, traveling and volunteering with the Special Olympics. Most of all she is happiest spending time with her husband, daughter and two dogs.
