Altru Announces Director of Safety
Grand Forks, ND – Altru Health System is proud to announce Sheryl Austin has accepted the position of director of safety. In her new role, she is responsible for the Altru Health System Safety Program which includes Emergency Preparedness, Safety, Security, Life Safety, Hazardous Materials and Environment of Care. She will work with an excellent team of managers and staff who are safety subject matter experts. Sheryl states, “My goal as the Safety Director for Altru Health System is to take safety awareness and practices to a higher level through improved systems and procedures, as well as increased frequency of practice and education.”
Prior to joining Altru, Sheryl spent over 20 years in Safety, Security, Disaster Preparedness and Fraud Prevention at Alerus Financial. In 2010, she joined the Risk Solutions division of LexisNexis as a Market Planner. Sheryl joined Altru Health System as the Emergency Preparedness Manager in January of 2014. During the past three years, she’s built and promoted the emergency preparedness program within Altru and in partnership with Grand Forks and surrounding community emergency managers and first responders.
