Altru Announces Manager of Emergency Preparedness  

Grand Forks, N.D. – Altru Health System is proud to announce that Rick Litzinger has accepted the position of Manager of Emergency Preparedness. In this role, Rick will educate Altru staff on emergency procedures and improve safety knowledge through drills and exercises. Additionally, he will maintain emergency preparedness compliance at Altru, and will continue to grow relationships with community partners to ensure a state of preparedness for emergency response and incident management. 

Previous to joining Altru, Rick served as the Lead Wildland Firefighter at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services Devils Lake Wetland Management District for 13 years. For the last three years, he served as the Northeast Central Region Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Environmental Health Practitioner, and also assumed the role of Safety Coordinator for the Lake Region District Health Unit. 

Rick earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at South Dakota State University. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, camping, fishing, curling, and watching hockey.
