Altru Health System Named 2017 Most Wired™ Advanced Category

Grand Forks, N.D. – Altru Health System has been recognized in the Advanced Category in this year’s HealthCare’s Most Wired™ survey.  Of the 698 participating organizations, representing 2,158 hospitals across the country, only 27 organizations were named in the Advanced Category. The survey, released by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum, is a leading industry barometer measuring information technology (IT) use and adoption among hospitals nationwide. It examined how organizations are leveraging IT to improve performance for value-based healthcare in the areas of infrastructure, business and administrative management, quality and safety, and clinical integration.

“Technology is making it easier for patients and providers to interact, thus improving communication, safety and patient-provider relationships,” stated Mark Waind, chief information officer at Altru. “We are constantly looking for opportunities to leverage improvements in technology with improved tools for our patients to access care and their information.”

According to the survey, Most Wired Advanced Category hospitals are transforming care delivery with knowledge gained from data and analytics. Most Wired Advanced Category hospitals are using every available technology option to create more ways to reach their patients, providing exceptional access to care. The use of smart phones, telehealth and remote monitoring create more ways for patients to access health care services and capture health information.

Detailed results of the survey and study can be found in the July issue of H&HN. For details and a full list of winners visit www.hhnmag.com
