Fourth Annual Run for Your Buns 5K to Raise Awareness for Colonoscopy

Grand Forks, N.D.Run for Your Buns 5K Run/Walk will take place 8 a.m. Saturday, June 10, in Grand Forks. The race will begin and end in Lincoln Park, with the course following the Greater Grand Forks Greenway. Net proceeds from the race will be presented to Altru Health Foundation to help uninsured and underinsured patients cover the cost of screening colonoscopy. Over the course of a lifetime, one in 20 adults will be diagnosed with colon cancer. When detected early, colon cancer is treatable.

“Screening colonoscopy is the best test for screening and detecting colon cancer,” said race director Kamrin Macki, gastroenterology nurse practitioner. “The community’s support of this event has been incredible.”
