Someone is diagnosed with blood cancer every four minutes.
Thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases depend on finding matching donors who can save their life. Patients need donors who are a close genetic match. Even with a registry of millions, 6 out of 10 patients NEVER receive the lifesaving transplant they need. Donors of all ethnicities are needed if we are going to change the odds. Registering as a bone marrow donor is as easy as filling out a form and swabbing the inside of your cheeks to collect cells for tissue typing.
You can help raise the odds, save a life and come away feeling like you have something in common with life-saving heroes.
It is easy to register. Just step up, sign up and swab--all in less than 10 minutes!
18-55 years old, good health, weight more than 110 pounds but not to exceed a BMI of 40, and a commitment to donate peripheral blood stem cells or bone marrow if a match.
One in about 540 registered donors is called in their lifetime. Curious? Come by to ask questions and learn more. For more details on bone marrow donation, visit deletebloodcancer.org or contact Erika directly.
