Career Development

Altru Health System places a high priority on continuous learning for our employees. A variety of learning opportunities to maintain and expand competencies, skills and knowledge are provided to Altru employees. This begins with New Employee General Orientation to acclimate new staff to the culture of Altru Health System. It continues throughout employment through various programs including risk management, infection control, safety, and emergency medical training. Altru also supports individual staff and leadership professional development through Altru’s University.

Altru also offers Educational Financial Assistance to those pursuing further education.

School-To-Career

Altru Health System is a partner in the Grand Forks Public School's School-to-Career program. School-to-Career provides exposure to a variety of educational, training and career options - starting with speakers in elementary schools and progressing to academically connected internships in a high school student's field of interest.

As students see the connection between schoolwork and career requirements, they understand the importance of learning and can make better decisions about their futures.
