Administration

Altru’s Administrative team is responsible for leading the operations of our organization by implementing the strategic plan for our integrative health care system. This team consists of Executives, Administrative Directors and Medical Directors.

Project Description

The Administrative Intern will work with one or two of our Administrative Directors. Projects are determined based on available work experiences and the learning objectives of the Intern.

Finance

Altru’s Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial decision support for the Health System. The Finance Department also organizes the health system’s financial and accounting affairs including the preparation and presentation of appropriate accounts, and the provision of financial information for our leaders. The main areas covered by the finance department include: financial statement and budget preparation, oversight and compliance, payroll processing and reporting, property and equipment reconciliation management, and medical insurance contract management.

Project Description

The Finance Intern will work with one or more of our Business Finance Managers and assist with the preparation of departmental reports and budgetary analysis; income statements and investment portfolio reconciliations.

Human Resources

Altru’s Human Resources Department provides the health care system with people resources support including recruitment and retention efforts, employee relations, labor law consultation, training and development, onboarding coordination, market studies, workforce analysis, compensation and benefits.

Project Description

The Human Resources Intern will work with our People Resource Leadership Team and projects will be determined by available work experiences and the learning needs of the Intern.

Information Systems

Information Services exists to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the people we serve through the appropriate use of information technology - applications, communications, information, clinical device data and computer equipment - in a manner that meets the requirements established with our customers.

Project Description

The IT Intern will work on Altru’s IT Service Center. The intern will answer calls, assist customers with technical issues, upgrade and install equipment, and respond to various customer requests. The IT Security Intern will work with Altru’s Security Analysts to monitor various security events, respond to incidents, and assist the security team in designing and maintaining all of Altru’s IT security systems. Interns will also have the opportunity to shadow IT professionals in a professional environment.

Learning & Organizational Development

Project Description

The Learning and Organizational Development Intern directly assists the learning and Organizational Development leaders with a wide range of projects related to learning strategies, organizational development, leadership development, and instructional design. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills acquired in school related to the intern’s particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. The intern will gain a better understanding of the role that Learning and Organizational Development can play in a non-profit health care setting, and be better prepared to work in the arena of learning and the nonprofit sector. The intern will also have opportunities to network with the staff in other departments as well.

Primary Care

Altru’s Primary Care Division brings together diverse medical providers through a team approach to offer world class health care. The division coordinates care, sets the strategic vision and goals for the departments, and organizes resources to best suit primary care. Altru’s Primary Care Division encompasses family practice, clinic operations, ambulance services, practice management, emergency and urgent care along with the Truyu and Diabetes centers.

Project Description

The Practice Management Intern will work with our Manager of Primary Care Programs and be responsible for researching best practices that inform our business plans along with assisting on service line launches. Projects are dependent upon intern preference and learning goals and may include streamlining services, conducting break even analysis, and researching best practices to stay competitive in the industry.
