Family Engagement

Deciding on a senior living community is often a family decision. For some, the decision to ditch the chores associated with home ownership is easy. For others, this transition is an emotional one for all involved. We are here to help.

According to Pew Research Center, slightly more than one of every eight baby boomers — those Americans roughly ages 40 to 60 — are simultaneously raising a child and providing some form of assistance to a parent. In fact, more than 25 percent of American families are involved in elder/parent care at some level. This group is charged with managing the needs of their parents or older relatives with the needs of their children, jobs and relationships. Such juggling has attributed to an increase in health problems related to stress for this demographic.

Because of our alignment with Altru Health System, Parkwood shares its mission – Improving Health, Enriching Life. Our focus is on reliving families of the stress associated with managing chores and health care so you can get back to what’s important – your relationships with each other. It’s our way of meeting the mission.
