In 2015, Altru Health System has partnered with Healthy Choices Greater Grand Forks for 30 Days of Running. Running miles will be logged as part of the Healthy Choices Greater Grand Forks’ Walking Challenge, aiming to walk 1 million miles as a community in 2015. We hope you join us as we #Runfor30 and #walk1million.
P.S. All kinds of exercise can be logged for the Walking Challenge: biking, swimming, walking, running, etc.
During the month of June, six days a week, #30 Days of Running is collaborating with community groups to give you opportunities to run with others.
Beginning June 8, the Grand Forks Park District hosts a track meet for 4-14 year olds. The track meets begin at 6 p.m. at Cushman Field near Red River High School. Medals are given to the participants.
Runners of all levels and ages meet at Lincoln Park at 6 p.m. to run together. This run is in conjunction with Red River Runners, but anyone is welcome to join.
Wild Hog Wednesday
Runners of all levels are invited to meet at Wild Hog each Wednesday at 7 p.m. for group runs. These runs begin on National Running Day, June 3. Runners can win door prizes and sign up for any of the Wild Hog races. Discounts are also available for those who join Red River Runners Grand Forks. The Wild Hog Wednesday group meets until the end of September. After your run, don’t forget to log your miles!
Scheels has clubs for runners, bikers, in-line skaters and walkers! Beginning May 28, those interested in exercising can meet at Scheels’ Customer Service in the Columbia

Two miles may seem like a lot, especially for a first time runner. Take your time. Walk when necessary. Set a goal. Before you know it you’ll be longing for more. If you're starting out, check out Red River Runners. They hold a Beginning Running Group on Tuesdays, 6 p.m. at Lincoln Park, offering multiple distances.
Every Tuesday in June, let us know how you accomplished your two miles. You'll be entered into a drawing for a gift card from Scheels.
