Billing Information

Payments on any Altru bill can be made at any Altru location, pay your bill online or pay on MyHealth.   

If you have medical insurance, your financial responsibility depends on the coverage provided by your policy in terms of deductibles, co-insurance, co-payments, and non-covered services. Altru will prepare your insurance claim forms for all services provided by us and will submit these claims to your insurance company. There is no charge for this service, but we ask you to provide the required insurance information -- please bring your insurance card with you for every visit. If you have no medical insurance, we can help you establish a payment plan.

Altru patients receive one consolidated bill that itemizes the services provided for each individual on your account per month. The bill clearly indicates what you owe. It is important to name one guarantor at the time of your visit check-in. This should be the person legally responsible for patient balances.

(Until previous balances for services received prior to February 2010 are reconciled, you will continue to receive bills in the old format. It is important to view all bills and pay them as indicated.)

Obstetric Patients: Altru now sends one combined charge that encompasses the total on a normal pregnancy and delivery after your baby has been born. This charge includes all obstetrical care through delivery; charges for ultrasounds, laboratory and other tests will continue to be billed by visit. (North Dakota and Minnesota Medicaid and self-pay patients will continue to be billed by visit.)

Altru Home Services Patients: Patients receiving care through Altru Home Services will continue to receive an Altru Home Services bill.  This bill will be separate from a bill from Altru Clinic and Altru Hospital.
