Altru's Medical Fitness Center offers a wide variety of group fitness classes for all ages and abilities, including:
A & E (Arthritis and Exercise)
Arthritis and Exercise focuses on gentle activities to help increase joint flexibility and range of motion and maintain muscle strength. Exercises can be done while sitting or standing and are easily modified to accommodate various fitness levels and limitations.
- Monday and Friday 9:30 – 10:15 a.m.
Balance
Balance is designed to improve balance and prevent falls through exercises that target strength, coordination, flexibility and balance. The goal of these exercises is to keep you active and safe at home and in the community.
- Wednesday 9:30 – 10:15 a.m.
Ball Pilates
Traditional Pilates practice supplemented with the addition of a stability ball. With a strong emphasis on core muscles, this Pilates routine will help take your fitness to a new level.
- Friday 12:05 - 12:45 p.m.
Cardio Tone-Up
Cardio Tune-Up is a group exercise class combining calisthenics, body weight movements, and core exercises designed to get a good full-body workout while having fun! For moderate to advanced fitness levels.
Circuit Traning (Lunch Time Circuit)
Circuit training is a high intensity class that combines strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and core training. A fast paced class designed to get a full body workout all during your lunch hour. For moderate to advanced fitness levels.
- Tuesday and Thursday 12:10 -12:50 p.m.
Core
Core combines both exercise and education in a comfortable setting. This class is designed to develop strength and stability in the body’s core (abdominal and back muscles). All levels of fitness can benefit from this exercise class.
- Wednesday 5:15 – 5:45 p.m.
Pilates
Pilates strengthens the muscles that support the spine to bring balance into the body. Many body aches and pains are due to muscular imbalance. Pilates helps to decrease tension, increase flexibility, and strengthen the body from the inside out.
- Monday and Wednesday 7:00 – 7:45 a.m.
Senior Fitness
Senior Fitness is a moderate intensity fitness class that is geared toward improving strength, endurance, and flexibility. From body weight exercises to weightlifting and core training this class will provide you with a great full body workout.
- Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 – 10:15 a.m.
WET
Water Exercise Together is a low intensity warm water class focusing on exercises to increase joint flexibility and range of motion, improve muscular strength, core development and balance.
- Monday and Wednesday 12:30 - 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 – 6:00 p.m.
