Renal Dialysis

Renal Dialysis is the automated filtering of blood. It removes chemicals from the blood when the kidneys cannot.

Among our renal dialysis units in Grand Forks, Crookston, Roseau and Devils Lake, we offer 32 chairs for patients needing treatment.

Altru's Renal Dialysis offers:

  • acute hemodialysis
  • inpatient hemodialysis
  • outpatient hemodialysis
  • plasmapheresis
  • inter-op hemodialysis

At home peritoneal dialysis is another option. As many as 20 patients and families are trained in home peritoneal dialysis annually. Training sessions for patients and families are available and will be arranged with your provider’s referral.

Travel and lodging for dialysis treatment can be a financial burden. HARP, Help and Assistance for Renal Patients, is available to dialysis patients who need financial assistance and qualify based on income. In addition to travel and lodging, HARP includes protein supplement assistance.
