International announced that
Altru’s Rehabilitation Hospital has been accredited for a period of three years. Altru’s Inpatient
Rehabilitation Hospital supports its mission by providing the region with
an inpatient interdisciplinary rehabilitation program dedicated to restoring
patient's functional level of independence for discharge to a community setting.
CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and
human service providers in the areas of Aging Services, Behavioral Health,
Child and Youth Services, Durable Medical Equipment, Employment and Community
Services, Medical Rehabilitation, Opioid Treatment Programs, and Vision
Rehabilitation Services. CARF assists service providers in improving the
quality of their services by applying sets of quality standards during
an on-site survey.
This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation
that can be awarded to an organization and shows Altru’s substantial
conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year
accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer-review process and
has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its
programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.
