
Grand Forks, N.D. – Gregory Emfield, DO, MS has joined Altru Health System’s comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology practice. He specializes in routine and complex cataract extraction, strabismus correction, cornea transplants, glaucoma shunt device implants, intravitreal injections, laser treatments for glaucoma and retinal diseases, eyelid procedures, and eye trauma repair.

Dr. Emfield earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon, Oregon. He completed his traditional rotating internship at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley, California. Dr. Emfield went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California. In his free time, Dr. Emfield enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and spending quality time with his wife, their four daughters, and two dogs.
