Altru Partners with Devils Lake Public Schools to Provide Medical Services

Grand Forks, ND – Beginning September 2021, Altru Health System will partner with Devils Lake Public Schools to provide medical services including a full-time nurse and on-site licensed sports medicine for student athletes at school sports events.

“We are excited to be able to partner with the Devils Lake Public Schools system and provide medical services to students of all ages at all 5 schools,” says Amber Stokke, regional clinic manager of Altru Clinic in Devils Lake. “Having the opportunity to serve student in the schools will assist in the reduction of absenteeism, offer world class care in person and support our community.”

A registered nurse will provide medical service needs to the Devils Lake Public School system on a full-time weekly basis between the 5 schools in the district including diabetes care, medication administration, lice checks and more. The nurse will work closely with school administrative staff, guidance counselors and social workers, communicating needs and concerns.

Altru will also provide on-site licensed sports medicine services for student athletes at all Devils Lake Public School sports events.
