Altru Appoints Steven Weiser, MD, as Medical Director of Inpatient Services

Grand Forks, N.D. – Altru Health System is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Steve Weiser to Medical Director of Inpatient Services. In this position, Dr. Weiser’s key responsibilities include oversight of physician practices in Urgent and Emergent Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Critical Care, Pulmonology and Hospitalists.

“I look forward to the challenges of this new position and the collaboration with my colleagues in our quest to provide the world-class care to our residents in Grand Forks and the surrounding region,” states Dr. Weiser.

Dr. Weiser earned his medical degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnepeg, Manitoba, and completed his primary care residency at the University of McGill in Montreal, Quebec. He is board certified in family medicine, and he has worked in Altru’s Emergency Department for nearly 18 years. Early in his career, he helped to develop the Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care and Critical Care Paramedicine programs at Altru. He has served as a full time attending Emergency Department physician since 2001, and as the EMS Medical Director for Altru, the Grand Forks County EMS and many other EMS services since 2002.

When he is away from work, Dr. Weiser and his wife, Krista, spend time with their five children and granddaughter. They enjoy travelling and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys music, movies and home theatre technology.
