N. Garrett Powell, MD Joins Neurosurgery Team at Altru

Grand Forks, N.D. – N. Garrett Powell, MD has joined Altru’s neurosurgery team. Dr. Powell specializes in treating tumors of the brain and spine, degenerative conditions of the spine, complex spine disorders, hydrocephalus and more. Dr. Powell is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. 

“I try to see a patient as someone I know or perhaps as myself in that circumstance,” Dr. Powell says. “It helps me understand the issues they are facing and what I can do to help them restore their health.” 

Dr. Powell earned his medical education from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Florida. He went on to complete his residency at the University of Connecticut. In his free time, Dr. Powell enjoys traveling with his wife, scuba diving, surfing, hunting and inventing things in his shop.
