Altru Asks for Donations of Cloth Masks

Grand Forks N.D. - Altru Health System is prioritizing the safety of our staff, patients and community. As a safeguard against the spread of COVID-19, we’re asking our communities for donations of homemade cloth masks for our patients and visitors.

We’re hoping to give the masks to any visitors granted access to our facilities when they check-in. Any cloth masks that cover the nose and mouth area will be accepted. Anyone who wants to donate can contact Brittany Caillier at bcaillier@altru.org to schedule your donation drop-off.

Any patients and those accompanying them, along with visitors, vendors and couriers are asked to wear a cloth mask in any Altru facility. The request is in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines which advise people to wear a cloth face covering in public settings where social distancing measures are hard to maintain. The guidance is based on evidence which shows that many people with COVID-19 have no symptoms but can still transmit the virus to others.
