Personal Interests/Hobbies: One of my favorite things to do is bake and try new recipes. I also enjoy reading fun short fiction to take my mind of things and spending time with my husband and family
Why Grand Forks/Altru? Grand Forks is a big town with a small-town feel. Why Altru? I 1000% couldn’t imagine myself going anywhere else. When I say that the attendings support you and you truly enjoy being around your coworkers I really mean it! You are given autonomy but feel supported at all times. The program cares about your mental health and wants you to succeed and will help you in any way they can.
Medical School: West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine
Medical Interests: Women’s health including obstetrics, pediatrics, any kind of procedure, management of chronic medical conditions
Personal Interests/Hobbies: Spending time with family, horse-riding, swimming, traveling, scenic views, watching college football, reading
Why Grand Forks/Altru: I originally applied to the residency due to the obstetrics fellowship. I stayed because I felt at home. Our attendings and other residents truly welcomed me and became my family. The training we receive is so well rounded and comprehensive.

Medical Interests: I am interested in all aspects of Family Medicine, because I really enjoy caring for entire families and our community at all stages of life. I have special interests in obstetrical care, women’s health and pediatrics. I am also very hands on with patient care and gravitate towards clinic procedures including procedural contraception, removal of skin lesions, laceration repairs, joint injections, and use of point of care ultrasound.
Personal Interests/Hobbies: Outside of work/residency I enjoy spending quality time with family, friends, and my rescue dog Laynie. I also enjoy spending my time outdoors, playing league volleyball with my co-residents/faculty/staff, and making traditional family dishes like lefse.
Why Grand Forks/Altru: Imagine a place where you can manage patient care in the hospital, treat patients in clinic, throw some sutures in the emergency room, and delivery a baby all in the same day. Here at Altru that dream is a reality. We work hard as a team to provide exceptional care to our community at all stages of life. In this program you are pushed to explore the breath of your ability and training supported by passionate and talented physicians that have helped mold our profession of rural Family Medicine into the career it is today.
Medical School: Tulane University School of Medicine
Medical Interests: I enjoy following my patients on both the inpatient and outpatient setting. My medical interests are point of care ultrasound and women’s health.
Personal Interests/Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my son and my husband. I enjoy golfing and bowling in my free time. My co-residents and I also have a lot of fun hanging out together
Why Grand Forks/Altru: Altru FMR is a very supportive environment to learn medicine. I am surrounded by people that I respect and want to learn from. Grand Forks is the perfect size town for young professionals and for families - it has everything you need and is a lot of fun.

Medical Interests: I love all care aspects from infants to geriatrics. I really enjoy OB and am planning on doing vaginal deliveries in my practice. I love to try new things and this residency is the perfect place to get to explore all opportunities.
Personal Interests/Hobbies: I love to spend time with family, friends, and my dog, Bellatrix. I also love spending time with my co-residents doing many activities with them. Hobbies: baking, reading, traveling, playing games!
Why Grand Forks/Altru: Altru FMR made me feel as though I was already family from the moment I walked in. The faculty and the residents all asked questions to get to know me more. They are friendly and so supportive. I could not see myself in any other establishment to feel as comfortable and confident as they make me feel.

Medical Interests: Preventative medicine, Chronic disease management (Asthma, COPD, Heart Disease, Diabetes) and Emergency Medicine.
Personal Interests/Hobbies: Motorcycles, Chess, Watches, Volleyball and Soccer
Why Grand Forks/Altru: From the benign to the serious you will be exposed to all levels of disease in this rural setting. Altru and the Family Medicine Residency Program are unique in that you will be pushed to strive for excellence but be supported along the way. Medicine is hard, rural medicine is even harder but to do it unsupported is impossible. I count myself blessed to work alongside such caring and brilliant physicians.
