Why Grand Forks/Altru: I chose Altru Family Medicine Residency Program because of their location, rural family medicine training, and their OB experience. I was able to spend time with the program as a medical student and knew then that both the faculty and residents would be great mentors, teachers and friends. I also knew I wanted to train somewhere where I had exposure to Native American patients and good training to prepare me to practice in rural areas, and I knew that I could get both at Altru FMR.

Medical Interests: I love the wide variety Family Medicine has to offer, but I particularly love to work with women and children. As a mom myself, I tend to gravitate toward these populations and can easily relate to their day-to-day concerns. After graduation I plan to do full spectrum family medicine, including hospital medicine and delivering babies.
Personal Interests/Hobbies: My two boys tend to take up all my extra time these days, but on a rare day to myself you can find me reading a good book, outside tending to my garden and flowers, working out, or listening to music.
Why Grand Forks/Altru: I'm a Grand Forks native and always knew I wanted to come back eventually. During residency interviews though, it was clear to me that Altru FMR was a perfect fit. It's the best combination of independence and supervision and we are supported by truly amazing faculty and staff.
