Walk-In Care

Altru is offering convenient walk-in care for both non-respiratory and respiratory symptoms.

Altru’s Sick Clinic

Location: Altru Family Medicine Residency | 725 Hamline St. Grand Forks, ND 58203

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Care Available: Treatment for upper respiratory symptoms, including:

  • Cough
  • Fever
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Sore Throat
  • Nasal Congestion

Access: Walk-in or by appointment. Appointments can be made through Altru’s COVID-19 Screening Hotline, 701.780.6358

Patients experiencing severe symptoms should call 911 or visit Altru’s Emergency Room.

The team at this clinic will be following elevated protocols, including the use of PPE during visits, to assist in reducing the spread of potential respiratory illnesses. Establishing these additional measures will allow us to properly care for our patients with respiratory concerns in a separate environment from other patients. This includes our pediatric patients and those seeking care for other reasons.

Altru Express Clinic

Location: Altru Clinic in East Grand Forks | 607 Demers Avenue East Grand Forks, MN 56721

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Care Available: Treatment for any non-respiratory symptoms including:

  • Toothache
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Sprains

Access: Walk-in

If you are experiencing a fever, cough, or shortness of breath and have had close-exposure to persons with confirmed COVID-19, or have had recent travels to areas with confirmed cases, please call the 24/7 Coronavirus Screening Hotline at 701.780.6358 before visiting an Altru location.

Regular Scheduled Appointments

Most regularly scheduled appointments can continue as planned. With the safety measures in place at Altru, we have safe care environments for all types of care. Please plan to wear a mask to your appointment if you have one. If you have questions about your appointment, please contact your provider’s office.

Virtual Care

Meet with your care team without leaving your home. Altru is offering more virtual care options than ever before to best serve our patients during this time. Contact your provider to learn more about your virtual care options at Altru.

Video Visit

Patients with access to their active MyChart account on their smartphone or tablet can connect with their provider via video chat on their MyChart app.

Changes to Elective Procedures

As we prioritize the safety of our staff, patients and community, Altru has established safety measures related to procedures. All patients with scheduled (or elective) procedures will be asked to quarantine for 14 days prior to the procedure. Your provider's office will provide these guidelines and work with you to answer any questions or concerns. We will continue to do urgent and emergent surgeries, putting measures in place to ensure our patients and staff are safe.

To allow us to safely screen all patients during this time, we have temporarily paused on self-scheduling in some specialties through MyChart. Please call your provider's office to schedule your appointment, or call Altru's main number at 701.780.5000.
