Andrew Toftoy, MD

About Andrew

Andrew Toftoy, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with an emphasis in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. Andrew was able to benefit from excellent orthopedic care when he was growing up and saw what an impact it could have on his ability to play sports and lead an active lifestyle. He has always wanted to be able to provide that to others when he grew up and so, he pursued his dream of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family.

Philosophy of Medicine

"I focus on listening to the patient's story, getting a sense of what they want to do, and then determining the best way to help them achieve that goal, whether that is a particular hobby, sport, or occupation. Also, I want patients to know that just because they are coming to see a surgeon, it does not mean that everyone will benefit from surgery. I spend time explaining all treatment options and counseling patients to facilitate a shared decision-making process. I encourage maximizing all acceptable non-operative treatment prior to proceeding with surgery. I am very comfortable treating athletes of a variety of ages and have extensive team coverage experience ranging from the high school to collegiate (including the Denver University Men's Hockey team) as well as the care of professional athletes during my time as an associate team physician for the Colorado Avalanche. I also enjoy caring for the weekend warriors and those who are looking to participate in their favorite hobby or occupation with less pain and limitation."
