Philosophy of Medicine

"As a trauma surgeon, most of the patients I meet will not present on an elective basis. It is my priority to demonstrate to the patient they are in good hands when they are at their most vulnerable. I strongly believe in direct communication and will relentlessly advocate for my patient's best surgical management and rehabilitation interests."

The one thing we forgot to cover was future expectations, what outcomes or possibilities we might expect to encounter when we arrive at the next inflection point of recovery. I totally forgot to ask. The appointment was very present focused, and it wasn't until later that I reflected I that truly didn't have the information.
