Mara Thorsen, MD

Mara Thorsen, MD specializes in Family Medicine and Primary Care. Mara is passionate about quality care and helping her patients lead fulfilling lives and keeping them healthy for as long as possible. Outside of work, Mara enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, gardening and traveling.  

Philosophy of Medicine

"As a child, I always loved going to the doctor. I thought of her as a resource for any questions I had and she was always so willing to teach. As I got older, I found a natural inclination toward the sciences and thought anatomy and physiology were fascinating. This interest, mixed with a desire to be a resource to others, sparked my passion for medicine.

I was drawn to Family Medicine in particular because this specialty is best positioned to care for the entire person-- mind, body, and spirit, and is well-informed by the social constructs influencing those things. My hope is to form strong relationships with all my patients, and to approach their healthcare as a team, making decisions together that fit their goals and lifestyle."
