Visitor Restrictions

Our top priority is keeping our patients, staff and community safe and healthy. It is vital for us to carefully monitor admittance into our facilities. Thank you for your understanding and assistance as we work to ensure a healthy environment for our patients and staff.

  • All visitors and patients will continue to be screened upon entering our facilities.
  • Visiting hours are from 7 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • After hours guests will be required to show proper identification before entering any facility.
  • Visitors are recommended to wear a mask when in an Altru facility. Some departments may require masking depending on regulatory requirements. Medical masks are recommended. Masks should cover mouth and nose.

Visitors that do not fall within these exceptions may reach out to the Sunshine Hospitality Home at 701.732.7900 or if in need of overnight accommodations.

  • Anyone with symptoms of a respiratory infection such as a cough, shortness of breath or fever should delay their visit.
  • Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is suspected positive must quarantine for 14 days and be symptom-free for 72 hours before visiting.
  • Visitors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Visitors who need overnight accommodations may reach out to the Sunshine Hospitality Home at 701.732.7900 or
  • Clinical administration may provide exceptions to these guidelines for critical illness, end of life, or other special situations.

  • COVID-19 Positive Patients (including COVID-19 rule out patients)

If you have been COVID-19 positive or suspected positive, we ask that you have been quarantined for 14 days and are symptom-free for 72 hours before entering Altru facilities.

COVID-19 Mask Requirements

Masks are currently recommended for all patients and visitors at Altru.

Some departments may require patients and visitors wear masks depending on regulatory requirements.

Patients who have symptoms compatible with COVID-19 will be required to wear a mask when receiving care at an Altru facility.

Altru Health System continues to evaluate mask requirements for patients and visitors.
