Grand Forks, N.D. – Effective October 1, 2018, Altru will partner with the Altru Family YMCA to serve Medical Fitness Center members at its downtown location. Altru Family YMCA already partners with Altru in several avenues serving populations including those with chronic conditions through a variety of successful programming options.
“Altru has had a long-standing relationship with our local YMCA, with the same focus to improve the lives of those we serve in our communities,” says Jill Wilson, administrator of clinical operations. “As Altru continues to seek further opportunities to partner, the transition of the Medical Fitness Center services is a perfect collaboration.”
The current location of the Medical Fitness Center, located on the main level of Altru 1300 Columbia, will be redesigned to become home for other Altru departments. The redesign is part of the long-term solution to optimize clinic practices displaced at the end of 2016 after the structural failure of Altru Main Clinic.
“We are excited about the opportunity to expand upon our partnership with Altru Health System through medical fitness,” says Debbie Thompson, YMCA’s chief executive officer. “We hope we can further enhance the experience for community members to go from patient to making fitness a part of their ongoing healthy lifestyle choices.”
