Altru Presents Scholarships to Local High School Graduates

Posted OnMay 23, 2018

Grand Forks, N.D.– Altru Health System recently presented scholarships to 22 local high school graduates pursuing careers in healthcare or related sciences. The $500 scholarships were presented in communities where Altru offers local services. Award criteria include academic achievement, citizenship, and recommendations, determined by a local committee consisting of a science instructor, school counselor, and principal.

“Each year we look forward to supporting high school students throughout our region. We are proud of our North Dakota and Minnesota graduates and are excited for their future in pursuing advanced education in the healthcare field. Dedicating one’s self to caring for others is inspirational and we wish these students all the best,” states Marlene Miller, Director of People Resources.

Altru is dedicated to supporting students in our region with opportunities to pursue their interest in healthcare. In addition to scholarships, Altru provides shadowing experiences to students from across the region. These experiences allow students the opportunity to observe work in a health care career of their choice and are critical to shaping the direction that students decide to go.

Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients:
