Save the Date for the 9th Annual Spin for Kids Event

Grand Forks, ND - Altru Health System will host the 9th Annual Spin for Kids event on April 14, 2018, at Red River High School. Registration opens February 14, 2018, at 7 a.m. at Altru’s Medical Fitness Center (1300 S. Columbia Road).

Spin for Kids is an indoor race on stationary bikes. Each team consists of eight riders that ride for 20 minutes each. The teams’ pledges provide supportive programs, services, and equipment to children with special needs in our region. Bikes fill fast; teams are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

“Each year it’s exciting to see how each team raises the bar to surpass the previous year’s fundraising efforts for Spin for Kids, and 2017 was another exceptional year,” states Spin for Kids co-chair and manager of Altru’s Rehabilitation Hospital and Inpatient Services, Rhonda Roed. “From the finish of the race, teams immediately begin to brainstorm innovative ways to bring Spin for Kids into our community. Participants recognize the impact they can make in the lives of these children and their families.”

All proceeds will be disbursed to qualifying families to help ease the struggles they face every day and help children live the fullest life possible. Last year, Spin for Kids raised over $185,000. To date, over $660,000 has been raised by Spin for Kids.

“The passion for Spin for Kids is profound and has engaged all ages to participate in this event,” explains Rhonda. “Whether you form a team, volunteer, or just come to be part of the fun and support Spin for Kids, we encourage everyone to join us on Saturday, April 14.”
