Local Businesses to Host Carfit for Older Adult Drivers

  • Posted On:

Personal mobility is critical for healthy aging. Our bodies change as we age and ill-fitting vehicles can make it uncomfortable and unsafe to drive. CarFit is a FREE event developed by the American Society on Aging in collaboration with AARP, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and AAA. CarFit is designed to provide a quick but comprehensive check of how well you and your vehicle work together. CarFit does not assess driving ability and all information is confidential. The check, which takes about 20 minutes, includes a complete twelve-point inspection of your vehicle by Occupational Therapy students from the University of North Dakota. You leave with recommended car adjustments and adaptations, a list of resources in your area, and greater peace of mind. This CarFit event is sponsored in part by AAA North Dakota and Altru Health System. Space is limited so please call to make an appointment.

Upcoming Events:

  • Parkwood Senior Living (back parking lot) | Wednesday, April 24 from 1-3 p.m.

  • Choice Health & Fitness | Thursday, April 25 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
