Grand Forks, N.D. - Dak Minn Blood Bank, the supplier for Altru Hospital, is currently in critical need of blood donations. Type A Positive, A Negative and O-Negative donations are most needed at this time.
“We expect the need for blood to increase over the coming weeks,” said Terri Hintz, Donor and Transfusion Supervisor. “There is currently a nation-wide shortage of blood that we’re also feeling the effects of in Grand Forks. With other vendors in the area at critically low levels, we may not be able to ask for assistance.”
People with all blood types are encouraged to donate, as soon as possible, to help us maintain inventory at desired levels.
Dak Minn is open for donations Monday through Friday beginning at 7 a.m.
Anyone interested in donating is asked to schedule an appointment by calling 701.780.5433 or online at DakMinnBloodBank.org.
