Altru Encourages Flu Vaccinations Ahead of the Holidays

Altru is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated for influenza before the holidays. With less than a week to go before Turkey Day, you still have time to fit in a vaccination appointment.   

“Vaccinations are the most effective tools we have to prevent the spread of infection,” said Holly Benjamin, practice manager at Altru Family Medicine Residency. “With families gathering for the holidays, now is the time to take an extra step to make the season merry.”   

After you receive your vaccine, it takes about two weeks for the antibodies to provide protection.  

“We know many young children and older adults are vulnerable to the flu,” Benjamin said. “It’s a good idea to encourage vaccinations for your loved ones who are most at risk.”
