At Altru, we believe that health is more than simply physical health. Supporting your health means promoting the overall wellness of your body, mind and emotions. Through our behavioral health services, we provide transformative care for a variety of mental health conditions.
Mental health challenges can significantly impact not just the life of the individual, but the lives of their loved ones, friends and communities. Our team-oriented approach to mental wellness brings a spectrum of specialists and providers to support you.
At Altru's Behavioral Health Clinic, we offer comprehensive outpatient treatment, professional assessment and therapy for individuals and families who need mental health support. Our team of psychiatrists, psychotherapists and nurse practitioners can provide a personalized plan combining various modalities of therapy, medications and other treatments for conditions such as depression, post-traumatic stress, relationship issues, life transitions, grief and loss and eating disorders.
Our clinic also offers an Intensive Outpatient Program as an alternative to an inpatient setting. This program provides structured, intensive treatment to address functional impairment stemming from a mental health disorder. This program enables patients to participate in intensive treatment during the day and return home at night.
Therapy is a highly effective treatment for many mental health conditions. Our providers are skilled in different therapy modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy and the strength-based approach.
We provide therapy services for individuals, families and couples.
Appointments at the clinic, located at Altru 860 Columbia, can be made through provider or self-referral. For more information or to make an appointment, call 701.780.6697.
For patients in need of a higher level of support, Altru’s inpatient Behavioral Health Unit provides a structured, safe environment with therapeutic care. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers, case workers and other specialists can provide stabilization, evaluation and treatment for mental health crises and situations requiring intensive care.
Our behavioral health unit offers medical care, individual and group therapy, occupational therapy and social work assessment and discharge planning. We also offer a therapeutic school program for children and teens.
Case managers provide support for chronic or complex situations where an individual receives multiple services at Altru. Our case managers help you with many of the problems related to mental illness, treatment and stabilization.
Altru’s case managers are professionally trained to assess patients and families’ holistic needs and to assist in accessing and coordinating appropriate resources. Case workers ensure continuity of care by collaborating with all your providers and referring you to appropriate community resources at every stage of recovery.
