Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is more commonly associated with obesity, where the body is resistant to the effect of insulin and other hormones. This is usually treated with oral medications at diagnosis, but many persons with type 2 diabetes will eventually need insulin. This is usually diagnosed in adults, but can also be seen in children.
