Heart & Vascular Screenings

It can be difficult to know the difference between heart and vascular problems based only on symptoms, and hard to tell which test you need to get to the root of problems that may even be symptom-free. That’s why Altru offers comprehensive testing of your heart and vascular system.

Screenings held from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Altru 1300 Building on the fourth Monday every month. Call 701.780.6941 for more information.

Who’s a Candidate?

You may be at higher risk for heart and/or vascular disease if you have one or more of these risk factors:

  • Family history of heart disease, stroke or other vascular disease
  • If you’re a smoker or have smoked in the past
  • Are overweight or obese
  • Have high blood pressure or hypertension
  • If you have high cholesterol
  • If you have diabetes
  • High stress levels
  • An inactive or unhealthy lifestyle

Why Get Screened?

  • Prevention is key
  • Heart disease in the leading cause of death in both men and women
  • Catching potential issues early can lead to conservative treatments and preventions vs. significant medical events
  • Heart and vascular diseases are closely related – if you have one, you’re at high risk for the other
  • Knowing your numbers, risks and ways to live heart-healthy can help you live a longer, healthier life

What’s Included in a Screening?
