As we get older, bothersome signs of aging, sun-damage, and lifestyle
habits such as smoking begin to creep up on us. These visible aesthetic
concerns can negatively affect our self-image and how others perceive
us. But, there’s a new non-surgical solution for men and women who
want to achieve younger, healthier-looking skin. Treatment is done in-office
visit with minimal side effects or downtime associated with more invasive
procedures.
At Truyu Aesthetic Center, one of our go-to rejuvenation treatments is
SkinPen®, the world’s first, and only FDA Approved device to
revolutionize Microneedling with PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma). It’s
a fast, convenient procedure done in a simple office visit. This procedure
offers effective results and a quick recovery time without the side effects
that are associated with more invasive treatments. Microneedling with
PRP is an FDA-approved treatment that involves the use of two procedures
that work synergistically to rejuvenate skin. The PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma)
procedure begins with an initial blood draw upon arrival to our office.
Your provider will then separate blood platelets and prepare the enriched
plasma (growth factors, platelets, and stem cells) for reinsertion to
predetermined treatment areas.
The second part of the procedure involves microneedling, using the SkinPen®
device. This device uses a single-use micro-needle attachment that is
adjusted to your skin type and thickness. It is a safe, non-invasive device
that offers the most effective patient outcome with the least amount of
recovery time. The SkinPen® device passes along the surface of the
skin to create controlled micro-injuries or channels that stimulate the
body’s natural wound-healing process. During this healing response,
collagen and elastin are produced resulting in firm, even skin tone, and
texture, as well as a healthy-looking complexion. Patients experience
little to no discomfort during treatment. You may experience slight redness,
dryness, or tenderness after your treatment. These symptoms will typically
subside within a few days, similar to a sunburn. You’ll notice a
more even, radiant complexion. As collagen production continues over the
next few weeks, your skin will continue to gradually improve. Many patients
note significant benefits with just one PRP Microneedling treatment session;
however multiple sessions may be necessary depending on your end goals.
