Accessible and community-focused. Respectful and patient-focused. For more than 95 years, we have been serving Crookston and the Polk County region with healthcare. Altru Health System is dedicated to expanding our reach and growing accountable lives, all while building a culture of excellence and high reliability.
With a goal of growing our core service lines in the regional areas we serve, Altru Health System and our Board of Directors have determined an expansion and renovation of our current footprint at Altru Clinic in Crookston is necessary. Plans are in motion to expand our reach and further improve lives in the Crookston area. By adding more convenient access to the routine and specialty care both needed and desired by patients in the region, patients will be able to stay close to home for the care they need. The expansion will begin with ground-breaking and construction starting in the fall of 2016 and a projected completion for March of 2018.
Altru Health System is dedicated to enhancing care for patients across the region. The foundation of our values starts with our patients and meeting the needs and expectations they have for quality care. Dr. Andres Makarem, internal medicine physician in Crookston says, “Altru Clinic in Crookston is run mainly by local residents and we understand how important it is to have access to high-quality services close to home. We have been providing many of these services for our community for years, and our current space is too small for the services we will be adding. We care about our community and believe in our team, we support it with action, and we are always working toward improving our patients’ experience. We are very excited about the future of Crookston.” Through the expansion project, Altru Clinic in Crookston will be able to provide enhanced care for patients across the region.
To continue to sustain Altru Health System, and on our journey to deliver world-class care to the residents of our region, this is an exciting time in Crookston. As the community grows and thrives, we want to prepare ourselves to serve the needs of the region. Kelly Proulx, certified professional coder at Altru Clinic in Crookston says, “I’ve seen a lot of changes within this organization in the 33 years that I’ve been working here, and this is by far the most exciting.”
