This model is exactly what it sounds like—a shared way of putting our brains together to fix problems and reach effective solutions. Shared governance is designed to integrate core values and best practices as a means of providing world-class care.
There are four nursing councils at Altru. These include:
- Nursing Quality Council (quality metrics)
- Nursing Clinical Practice Council (evidence-based practice, nurse-driven protocols)
- Professional Development Council (continuing education, career ladder)
- Nursing Informatics Council (EMR and technology workflow enhancements)
