A type of cancer that begins in the lining of the womb. The womb also is called the uterus.

Overview

Endometrial cancer begins as a growth of cells in the lining of the womb. The womb also is called the uterus. Endometrial cancer is often found when it's small and most likely to be cured.

Symptoms

Symptoms include vaginal bleeding that isn't typical. This includes bleeding after menopause or bleeding between periods. Another symptom is pelvic pain.

Treatment

Treatments include surgery to remove the uterus, radiation, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy.
