Definitions
Overview
Neuromuscular diseases affect the function of muscles due to problems with the nerves and muscles. Examples of such diseases include amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), muscular dystrophy, and multiple sclerosis.
Symptoms
The most common symptom of these diseases is muscle weakness. Other symptoms include pain, cramps, and movement problems.
